Probably the worst Tuina Book ever.

I wish I sent it back.

This book does not go into details of what each technique does, such as Tui: to regulate chi.
It doesn't give you all the techniques of tuina, yet it utilizes them in treatment protocols! Why would you have a chapter on techniques, and then have protocols that incorporate techniques that aren't even listed or described?

I wasted my money, please don't do the same.

I have been practicing Massage for the past 13 years, and I'm also an Acupuncturist. I learned Tuina in both Massage and Acupuncture school. I studied a little in China, and owned and operated a massage spa in Chinatown, NYC. The majority of my patients were Chinese.

Have to sell something and don't really know how?

This book makes it simple. It's fun to read. Even made me laugh. After reading this book, anyone can sell anything -- ideas, services, products. Great for free-lancers. Great for MLMers. Great for professionals who have to sell themselves. Even great for salesmen, who think they know it all. It's a way to sell where the customer wins as well as the salesman. It lays out a simple five-step system where the sale closes itself -- gently -- if all the prior steps are in place. I loved it!

Harry, I loved your book!

What I liked about your book Harry was the simple and straightforward description of the parts that make up a sale. I found it quite a useful device to start the book with What a Sale is NOT. This was a very good gradient for me and also cleared away alot of 'junk' that I've associated with the topic of sales. For someone who would never think of themselves as being a salesman, this book changed my mind. If all the sales people I run into used these principles, I would be friendlier to them!

This book was the best I have ever read in terms of giving me the simple truths and workable techniques that enabled me to get over my fear of selling and really make the grade! Applying what I learned in this book (which was FUN to read), I have gained the confidence to talk to anyone about my product and to get them through any barrier they might have to getting what they actually NEED. I am finally a Super Salesman. And I DO respect myself.

As always, a practical guide, though I still think that a new issue every year is over the top. Would be nice to see this as a loose-leaf that can be updated with new additions and changes instead of entire volumes that are basically useless after a few years. Also: Oxford comma, PLEASE AP. It will make writing SO much more accurate.

Beautiful book.

I'm a big fan of Victor Ambrus and I'm happy to have this book in my collection. As other reviewers have said, this is not an instruction book for beginners. Every page includes examples of Victor's work (mostly nudes) accompanied by the artist's notes. Directed toward the more experienced artist, Mr. Ambrus explains what he tried to achieve with each sketch. I found his insights on the use of light/dark, detail, shading, foreshortening, etc. extremely helpful as I try to improve my skills in rendering human figures.

I should mention that the book I received was not the one pictured (with the black over blue cover). It is an over-sized, hard cover book with several sample sketches on the cover.

I would definitely recommend this book to artists looking to learn from the work of this amazing artist.

Titled "How to Draw" but NOT a 'How to"

This book is basically just a collection of this man's drawings, with little comments about what materials he used and what was difficult for him. Since I'm trying to learn to draw, it was very disappointing since there is essentially no instruction. He also uses words without defining them, like foreshortening, etc. Definitely not an instructional book.

I love Ambrus's work. The human figures in his archaeological illustrations are very lively. As an artist myself this gives me an insight in how to draw more compelling figures in an illustration.
