Holds a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a M.S. in Finance from Bentley University, and a M.S. in Marketing from Georgia State University. With over 30 years of high-tech global sales, marketing, and advertising experience marketing to many Fortune 500 companies. Jeff is a marketing consultant, job search mentor, as well and Volunteer Director of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Career Ministry in Atlanta.

You want to get HIRED, read this book

As a practicing career coach, I am one who continuously buys job search books. I can say that this one is unique.
I was initially eager to read this book since I first encountered one of the authors (Al) in a shared LinkedIn group. His ideas and citations initially intrigued me to investigate his book, but the Table of Contents' chapter titles piqued my interest to the point of making a purchase. I was very pleasantly surprised by the original and exceptionally comprehensive content. Ironically, I found out that I was the first person that purchased the book.
HIRED! covers the entire subject of job searching from all angles. It has current and relevant information. It is written is a style which is easy to read. In fact, almost like a novel, I kept reading and reading because I did not easily find a point to stop.
Many similar books talk about the traditional job search, but this one talks about the future and for what (and how) employers are actually looking for candidates (you!). It has a very realistic approach to contemporary job search and I ended up reading it cover to cover, page by page.
Bottom line, I highly recommend this book by Al Smith and Jeff Sheehan to everybody who is in transition, contemplating a job change or seeks to enhance their professional positioning.

A job search book that really works!

Al Smith and Jeff Sheehan provide a pragmatic approach to your job search by using all available social media out there. This handy book will help you get noticed from the slew of resume postings and job board applications that we all experience. I know this to be true as I am now back in the ranks of the gainfully employed as a result!

Being a Talent Acquisition Manager, I read many books about job search. Unlike most career and job search books that I’ve read, I truly felt like the authors were having a conversation with me instead of at me or about me. They have taken the fear out of the job search.
